ABOUT
Global Call for Startups is a start-up competition to accelerate net-positive technologies and startups that can transform the food systems at scale and drive the urgent shift towards a healthy, just and sustainable food system in alignment the upcoming EAT-Lancet 2.0 report.
In addition to supporting the winners in the competition, the aim is also to raise awareness of how urgent solutions are needed in the food system, encourage entrepreneurs to address these challenges, and mobilize investments, support and partnerships for start-ups.
How it works
From March 17 to April 30 2025, the Global Call for Startups invites founders worldwide to apply. Through a rigorous evaluation process, top teams will be selected to attend the EAT Stockholm Food Forum on 3-4 October 2025, alongside influential scientists, investors, and policymakers.
THE Prize
The top teams will be invited to present at the EAT Stockholm Food Forum on 3-4 October 2025 in Stockholm. This marks the unlock of tailored support from anchor partners to gain access to investors, collaboration networks, and strategic resources, including residency programs with Antler, funding opportunities through Katapult and global networking with Norrsken.
The jury
After carefully reviewing all the applications, we narrow them down to a short list, where we enlist the help of real experts to identify those startups that align with the EAT-Lancet framework, are investable, and scalable. The 2025 jury consisted of world-class scientists from the EAT-Lancet 2.0 commission, as well as highly experienced industry representatives. Apart from input in the final rounds of the selection process, the eminent jury members also participate on stage at the announcement of the winners at the EAT Stockholm Food Forum 3-4 Oct, posing questions to the startups after each presentation.
