What is the 'Global Call for Startups'?
It's a global prize competition for startups dedicated to the transformation for healthy, sustainable and just food systems based on the scientific framework of the EAT Lancet 2.0. It's run in partnership by Norrsken, Katapult and Accenture.

What are the important dates of Global Call for Startups?

  • May  1 – June 15, 2026: Applications open

  • June – August: Evaluation & Selection

  • 14-15 October: Pitch spot at Norrsken Impact Week in Barcelona

  • September - February: Tailored support program with partners

Top candidates will be interviewed in July and winners will be decided and informed in August.

What do winners receive?
Five winners are selected and given:

  • A pitch spot at Norrsken Impact Week in Barcelona October 14-15

  • Tailored introductions to investors and ecosystem networks from Katapult and Norrsken

  • Strategic coaching from experts in venture building from Accenture

  • Pitch-training and candied feedback with our stellar team prior to your arrival in Barcelona

  • Travel and accommodation in Barcelona covered

What is Impact/Week?
Impact/Week is a carefully curated gathering of the world's top builders, investors, thought-leaders and policymakers taking place at Norrsken House in sunny Barcelona. The 14-15 October 2026 will mark the 5th edition of Impact/Week. Read more at https://www.norrsken.org/impactweek

What happens after winning?
Finalists will be given individual advisory and guidance of the portfolio of support offered by the partners to ensure best fit and highest degree of utlization

Is there a prize award?
Winning the competition does not include recieving any direct cash funds.

What is the EAT-Lancet 2025 Commission?
The 2025 EAT-Lancet Commission is a scientific update on what defines a healthy, sustainable, just food system in today's world. It provides the guidelines for a transformative movement that aims to nourish the planet while staying within the planetary boundaries.

Application and Selection

How can I apply to the Global Call for Startups?
• Ensure your business and solution meets the eligibility criteria.
• Click on the Apply Now button to complete your application form and submit it before 15th June 2025.
• For further details on registration, submission and announcement, keep an eye on the updates on the competition website and in the partners social media channels.

Can I submit more than one entry?
Yes, you can submit multiple entries (by intention or accident). Each entry will be assessed individually. Only one entry from the same individual(s) or organization will be permitted to advance to the next round.

Who can participate?
The competition is open for startups across the world that are dedicated to transform the food system to a sustainable, healthy and just food system using a scalable business model.

Individuals, research projects or agencies are not eligible to apply.
