TERMS & CONDITIONS
These terms and conditions are intended to ensure that the Global Call for Startups (“Competition”) is organized fairly and responsibly. Please read the below Terms and Conditions (“T&C”) carefully before agreeing to participate in any capacity in this competition. By submitting an application to the Competition each participant (“Participant”) agrees to these T&C.
EAT, Antler, Katapult and Norrsken as the lead organizers (“Organizers”) of the Competition reserve the right to amend the T&Cs. Any and all amendments will be effective immediately upon being posted on the Competition’s website.
1. PARTICIPANTS
The competition is open to individuals or group of individuals from any country, and start-ups or organizations (excluding solely commercial entities like corporations), domiciled in any country and legally recognized as such in that country
We welcome solutions from the Proof-of-Concept stage to fully operational growth stage. Idea stage submissions will not be entertained
The Lead applicant identified as the team leader at the application stage must be 18 years of age on the date of applying for the Competition
The Challenge is not open to employees and consultants of EAT, Antler, Katapult and Norrsken, members of the Jury, family members of the individuals mentioned in this clause or others with direct conflict of interest, or solely commercial entities like corporations.
The Competition reserves the right to exclude any Participant and any Entry from the Challenge at any time, for any reason, without prior notice and without compensation.
2. APPLICATION
To take part in the Competition, Participants shall complete and submit an Application via the online form by the deadline of 30 April 2025.
Each solution must comply with the competition's overall theme of driving food system transformation and the criteria built on the forthcoming EAT Lancet 2.0 as specified on the competition website.
Applications must be true, complete and original and should not infringe upon any third party rights, including but not limited to patent, copyright, trademark, trade secret, know-how, publicity or privacy rights, and will not violate any law.
Entries must not contain any offensive, defamatory, or discriminatory content.
More than one Application can be submitted. Each will be assessed individually. Only one Application from the same individual(s) or organization will be permitted to advance to the next round.
The participant may be asked to provide additional information to assist the Competition in assessing the Applications. The participant agrees to cooperate with the Competition, including by being available to provide such information and be interviewed per email, telephone, web meeting, or other method of communication.
The participant will fully cooperate with and participate in all publicity and promotional activities including travel reasonable demands regarding participation in the Competition and winning the Competition.
3. WINNING THE COMPETITION
This Competition is intended to select the top 5 Applications aligned with the competition's theme, which all will be deemed winners. All decisions, including the ranking of finalists and selection of winners, made by the organizing teams and/or the Expert Jury are final.
The benefits of participation and winning the competition are non-transferable and must be accepted by the applicant identified as the individual applicant or Team Leader (In case of a team).
The winners will be celebrated at the Finale in Stockholm at the EAT Stockholm Food Forum in October 2025. In-person attendance of a winner is mandated for the Finale event to be held in the presence of media and dignitaries.
Travel and lodging expenses incurred by maximum two team members per winner will be imbursed. Reimbursement is subject to approval in writing in advance.
Following the Finale, the winners will during one calendar year have the opportunity to participate in innovation development, training, coaching, networking, PR activities and experience sharing through the Organizers.
4. NOTIFICATION OF FINALISTS
Shortlisted applicants and winners will be notified via email/phone within a reasonable time after the judging process is completed.
The winners may be required to sign and return an affidavit of eligibility and liability release.
5. PUBLICITY
By entering the Competition, participants grant the Organizers and other partners involved in the Competition the right to publicize their names and submitted materials in the context of the Competition without additional compensation or benefits.
Participant will not engage in conduct that is harmful to the name and/or reputation of the Organizerss, the Competition, any third party partner to the Competition and/or other Participants.
Winners are encouraged to raise awareness of the Global Call for Startups through communication in for example social media and interviews. To ensure that the communication is correct and aligned each Winner must adhere to the Global Change Award Winners’ communication guidelines. Participants will not use the name of the Organizers or their partners or any trademarks in advertising or publicity without the written permission of the Organizers.
6. MODIFICATION OR CANCELLATION
The Organizers reserve the right to modify, suspend, or cancel the Competition in full or parts thereof, in the event of unforeseen circumstances or force majeure, at any point of time as may be necessary.
The Organizers reserve the right to disqualify any applicant and their entry submitted at any stage of the competition or thereafter, for any reason that it deems appropriate, including if found in breach of any of the terms and conditions of the competition.
7. COLLECTION OF PERSONAL DATA
In the context of the Competition, the Organizers will have access to and collect some personal data to facilitate evaluation and monitoring of the applications, to publicize the competition and its thematic area pertaining to startups driving food system transformation in alignment with EAT Lancet 2.0 and to publicize the solutions that are shortlisted. By submitting an application to the Competition Participants grant the Organizers an irrevocable, perpetual and worldwide right to publish and use the Application, and personal data such as Participant’s name and picture, country of origin, videos and photographs, in publicity materials and in any media current or future, without limitation or compensation to the Participants, in the context of the Competitions and future iterations of the Competition, including transferring it to the partners involved in the project. 8. NON-DISCLOSURE
You must never disclose or share at any point, confidential or private information and documents that are shared with me during the course of this competition or that I may come to chance upon, to any person outside or within your organization except to persons to whom disclosure is necessary for the purpose of the Competition or required by law or local regulation. You must keep confidential information about the Organizers safeguarded in your organization.
9. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
The Organizers and partners to the project, including their affiliates, shall not be liable for damages of any sort, including incidental and consequential damages such as economic damages, lost profits, injury to property, personal injury or death, caused by advice or information given or decisions made, as a result of or in any way connected to the Participant’s participation in the Competition.
The Organizers and partners to the project, including their affiliates, are not responsible for any lost, late, or misdirected entries, or for any technical malfunctions that may occur.
10. CONFLICT RESOLUTION
In case of any conflict arising at any stage of the competition, it will be resolved amicably and the decision of the organizing committee will be deemed final.
